Connecting to Solr
Note the following capabilities and limitations related to Zoomdata's support of Solr sources:
- The Zoomdata Server supports Solr from v4.8.1, v5.2, and v5.3.
- The table below lists information on the features that are supported in different Solr versions:

CONNECTING ZOOMDATA TO SOLR
To configure Solr Connector, perform the following steps:
- Log into Zoomdata.
Click the Sources menu item.
Specify the name of your source and add a description (if desired).
Request handler - specify custom request handler if needed.
Click Next .
page, define the connection source. You can use an existing connection, if available, or create a new one. To create a new connection, specify a connection name, select the hosting type (Standalone or Cloud) and enter a Solr Base URL. If needed, specify the user name and password.
- Click Validate to ensure you entered a valid URL. Valid data will be saved. Click Next .
On the Collections page, select the data collection to use for your charts.
Enable or disable caching and lookup values for your data source.
On the Fields page, create unique label names for the available fields in your data source. These labels will be displayed in the charts. Specify the required name in the Label field. If necessary, change the Type and Default options. If you want to perform a search by a word or phrase on your chart, select a checkbox in the Faceted filter for the corresponding field. Otherwise, leave it blank.
Select the checkbox in the Parent field column to mark the field as parent . Click Next .
- On the Refresh page, you can schedule asynchronous jobs to refresh fields in your data source. Refer to Using the Zoomdata Scheduler article for more information.
page, you can enable the charts that will be available for the data source and edit the settings for your charts.
That is, select the styles that will be available for the data source, change the global default settings, and more.

Click Finish to save your changes.
After you have created the Bars chart, you can search for a specific word or phrase via the search box. The Facets tab displays a list of columns you created. Click the items on the list to see your charts on the dashboard instantly updated.
SUPPORT OF SOLR VERSIONS PRIOR TO 5.2
If you work with a time period and select high granularity on your time bar (for example, minutes), an error can occur while processing the request. To avoid this, increase the formdataUploadLimitInKB value in Solr config.
