Managing Apache Drill Connectors
Zoomdata's Apache Drill connector lets you access the data available in this open-source SQL query engine for visualization and exploration within the Zoomdata Client. Zoomdata supports Apache Drill versions
. Apache Drill does not come with out-of-the-box connection in Zoomdata. Rather, you must first download, install, configure, and enable Apache Drill in order to connect to it in Zoomdata. For steps and more information, see the Apache Drill website.
What does Apache drill support?
The table below lists information on the features that are supported by Apache Drill.

Apache Drill supports three types of data queries:
- Folders and files
- Views with custom schema definition
- Using Hive metastore for getting schema
Zoomdata supports only Hive metastore and custom schema.
On the Charts page, you can:
- Edit Global Default Settings
- Select the Standard and, if available, Custom chart styles to be used with the data source
- Set default parameters (group, sub-group, colors, sorting, and so on) for each chart style
Select Finish to save your changes. Once your data connection has been established, it is listed in My Data Sources.
