Adding an SSL Certificate to the Zoomdata Server
Zoomdata supports SSL Certificates so that a secure connection between the Zoomdata Server and the browser can be established. In particular, Zoomdata supports two common formats for SSL Certificates - JKS and PKCS12.
To enable HTTPS and a secure browser connection, the SSL Certificate needs to be copied into the appropriate Zoomdata directory and the proper parameters be added to the
Perform the following steps:
- From your terminal, SSH to your Zoomdata Server.
Stop Zoomdata services.
For the appropriate Linux command line, refer to the article Stopping Zoomdata Services .
Copy your SSL keystore file to the
/opt/zoomdata/confdirectory.To obtain the SSL keystore file, work with your website domain provider.
Use the following command to access and open the
zoomdata.propertiesfile:vi /etc/zoomdata/zoomdata.propertiesIf the .properties file does not exist, this command will create the file.
Add the following lines to the file:
server.ssl.key-store-password= your_keystore_passwordReplace the placeholders keystore_name and your_keystore_password with your keystore details. Zoomdata supports the 'JKS' and 'PKCS12' certificate formats.
Save and exit the
Start Zoomdata services.

Once the Zoomdata Server has successfully restarted, open a new browser and check for a secure connection (that is, HTTPS).
REVERTING THE SSL CERTIFICATE TO THE DEFAULT ZOOMDATA VERSION
If you need to remove the SSL Certificate later on, you will need to edit the
file so that the SSL Certificate is reverted back to the default Zoomdata version. Edit the
file as follows:
Remember to save and exit the .properties file. Then restart Zoomdata services.
This action reverts the SSL connection to the original self-signed certificate that comes preinstalled with the Zoomdata Server.
