Build and Edit a Dashboard
With Zoomdata, you can build a dashboard in the following ways:
- All charts are based from a single data source, for example, Cloudera Impala.
- Charts are based from multiple data sources, for example, two charts from Solr, a third from MemSQL, and a fourth from Amazon Redshift.
This article walks through building a dashboard and the editing tools available to you.
A Zoomdata dashboard is comprised of at least one chart. To start developing your dashboard, add an initial chart . After this, you can add multiple charts to your dashboard as needed
When you have added the initial chart, add more charts to your dashboard as follows:
- Select the data source from the list in the Add Chart dialog box.
Select the chart type.
Repeat steps 1 through 3 to build your dashboard.
When you have added all the charts you need, be sure to save you work.
To proceed to working with a specific chart, select it on the dashboard.
RENAME A DASHBOARD
When you build a dashboard, it is assigned a default name. You can change the name of your dashboard any time by performing the following steps:
- Click the name of the dashboard.
- Specify a new name for your dashboard.
Zoomdata enables you to work with your charts directly on the dashboard. To customize your chart, select it on a dashboard. The active chart is marked with a green border. When you have selected the chart, the set of editing tools is displayed.
The table below details the actions that you can apply to the selected chart.
Change the style of your chart.
Click the Change style icon. The Change Style dialog box will be displayed showing the list of the chart types that you can use for the current data source.
Select the chart type.
Apply new filters to your chart or use the saved ones.
Click the Filter icon. The Add Filters dialog box will be displayed. You can add new filters to be applied to the selected chart or select from the saved.
Delete a chart from the dashboard.
Click the Delete icon. The icon will change to the button asking to confirm deleting the chart from the dashboard.
Click Delete .

Expand the selected chart to access additional editing options.
To switch back to the dashboard, click the button on a chart. All your edits and changes are retained.
You can also use the axes labels on the chart to explore your data set.
To access and manage your saved dashboards, click the Home icon.
