Changing Color Schemes

The Color menu in the chart canvas lets you customize and change the color scheme of your chart. This provides the flexibility of color-coding both your attribute and metric data elements.

From here, you can do the following:

The Color menu provides ways to identify the metrics/attributes within your chart based on their colors.

  1. Color key: Displays specific colors for each range of values for the selected metric or attribute. You can define a range and assign a color to it using the Color settings section.
  2. Display legend: Displays the color legend on your chart when enabled.
  3. Color settings: Enables you to select and change the color palette for the for your chart.
  4. Color metric/attribute: Enables you to select a metric or attribute to configure the chart colors.

to change the COLOR SETTINGS FOR METRIC-BASED CHARTS

  1. From the left rail menu, click Color.
  2. Under Color Settings, click the color legend to expand.
  3. From here, you can choose a variety of color palettes or create your own custom palette.

Sequential Color Palette

Sequential color schemes colors the metrics in your chart in a logical order.

  • Select Color Palette to pick from the list of predefined palettes
  • Select Color Range to create and define your own colors

Diverging Color Range

  •  Select Distinct Colors to assign a color to a range within your data. The Color Scale shows the data range split into three parts (ranges). Each range of your data is assigned a color that you have selected before. To change the range, simply move the slider to the desired color.
  • Select Gradient to apply a gradient to your entire data range.

To Change the COLOR SETTINGS FOR ATTRIBUTE-BASED CHARTS

  1. From the left rail menu, click Color.
  2. Under Color Settings, click the color legend to expand.
  3. From here, you can choose a variety of color palettes or create your own custom palette. The maximum number of colors that can be added to a palette is eight.

Assigned Colors

  • You can assign colors to certain attributes within your chart. To change the color of an attribute, click the color preview of the attribute and select a new color.

Automatic

  • You can automatically assign attributes within your chart default colors without assigning each attribute its own color. From here, you can select a color palette to apply to your whole chart.
