Identifying the sourceID of a Chart's Source
While working with the Zoomdata SDK, you may need to find the sourceID of a chart's source. For example, to programmatically identify a chart's default settings using a REST API call, it is easiest to use the sourceID to call to look at its source's configuration.
To identify the sourceID of a chart's source:
- Launch the Zoomdata client application in your browser.
- Select the hamburger menu ( ).
- Select Data Sources.
- Select the data source, for instance, the Real Time Sales sample data source.
- Select the chart, for instance, Pie . The chart appears displaying data from the data source that you selected.
Find the hyphenated number at the end of the URL in the address bar of your browser. The sourceID is the section of the number before the hyphen ( - ).
After you have identified the sourceID of a chart's source, you can use it in other steps such as calling REST API methods.
