Heat Maps

Heat maps are based on one metric and two attributes. This chart type is supported by all the data sources except Cloudera Search. It is supported by Solr v5.2 and higher.

To configure the default chart settings for a data source:

  1. Edit the appropriate data source configuration. See Editing a Data Source Configuration.

  2. Select the Charts tab in the data source configuration wizard.

  3. On the Standard subtab of the Charts tab, select Heat Map.

  4. Configure the settings as follows:

    Setting Description
    Group 1 Select the attribute for Group 1.
    Group 1 Limit Specify the number of Group 1 attribute items to display on the chart.
    Group 1 Sort Select a Group 1 attribute or metric and the sorting order (ascending or descending). For metrics, you can define the default aggregation function: SUM, AVG, MAX, MIN. See Available Metric Functions.

    Group 2

    Select the attribute for Group 2 on the x-axis.
    Group 2 Limit Specify the number of Group 2 (x-axis) attribute items to display on the chart.
    Group 2 Sort Select a Group 2 (x-axis) attribute or metric and the sorting order (ascending or descending). For metrics, you can define the default aggregation function: SUM, AVG, MAX, MIN. See Available Metric Functions.
    Color Metric Select a metric that affects the segment color in the chart. You can also define the default aggregation function used for the metric values: SUM, AVG, MAX, MIN, or (for some data sources) LAST VALUE. See Available Metric Functions.
    Number of colors Specify the number of colors to use for the chart.
    Display Legend Select this checkbox if you want the legend to be displayed on the chart.
    Legend Type Select the color palette or color range that you want to use (Color Palette or Color Range). If you select Color Palette, also select the palette you want used.
  5. Click Save.
