Scatter Plot Charts

The Scatter Plot chart type is based on three metrics and one attribute.

This chart type is supported by all the data sources.

Configuring the Default Settings

To configure the default settings for scatter plot charts:

  1. On the Standard subtab of the Charts tab (for your selected data source configuration), select Scatter Plot.

  2. Configure the settings as follows:

    Setting Description

    Group By

    Select the group by attribute.
    Group By Limit Specify the number of attribute items to be displayed on the chart.
    Group By Color Palette Select the color palette to be applied to your chart. Select the Display Legend checkbox to view the legend on the chart.
    Group By Sort Select an attribute or metric and the sorting type. For metrics, you can define the default aggregation function: SUM, AVG, MAX, MIN. See Available Metric Functions.
    X Axis Select a metric for the x-axis. You can also define the default aggregation function used for the metric values: SUM, AVG, MAX, MIN, or (for some data sources) LAST VALUE. See Available Metric Functions.
    Y Axis Select a metric for the y-axis. You can also define the default aggregation function used for the metric values: SUM, AVG, MAX, MIN, or (for some data sources) LAST VALUE. See Available Metric Functions.
    Size Select a metric to be denoted by the rectangle size. You can also define the default aggregation function used for the metric values: SUM, AVG, MAX, MIN, or (for some data sources) LAST VALUE. See Available Metric Functions.
  3. Specify the name of the chart and add the description.

  4. Click Save.
