Configuration Properties and Options

Zoomdata leverages the following configuration files to ensure successful deployment in your operating environment:

File Location Defines....
admin-server.jvm /opt/zoomdata/conf JVM options related to the Zoomdata Service Monitor.
admin-server.properties /etc/zoomdata configuration properties related to the Zoomdata Service Monitor.
config-server.properties /etc/zoomdata configuration properties relates to the Zoomdata configuration microservice.
edc-<connector>.jvm /opt/zoomdata/conf JVM options related to the specific Zoomdata connector microservice. For example, edc-impala.jvm contains JVM options for the Zoomdata Cloudera Impala connector microservice. See Connector Properties.
edc-<connector>.properties /opt/zoomdata/conf configuration properties related to the specific Zoomdata connector microservice. For example, edc-impala.properties contains configuration properties for the Zoomdata Cloudera Impala connector microservice. See Connector Properties.
query-engine.jvm /opt/zoomdata/conf JVM options related to the Zoomdata query engine. See Managing the Zoomdata Query Engine.
query-engine.properties /opt/zoomdata/conf configuration properties related to the Zoomdata query engine. See Managing the Zoomdata Query Engine.

Before editing these property files, be sure to log off Zoomdata from your web browser. When you have completed your edits, restart Zoomdata to ensure your changes take effect. For the security-related properties, you can refer to spring.io's Appendix A covering common application properties.

Zoomdata also provides a centralized Properties tab in the Service Monitor that you can use to dynamically alter property settings. See Using the Zoomdata Configuration Microservice to Maintain Application Properties.

Zoomdata discourages changing properties in the /opt/zoomdata/conf directory. Instead we recommend that you copy the files you want to change to the /etc/zoomdata directory and change them there. This will ensure that your changes are not overwritten when Zoomdata is next upgraded. In addition, you can quickly determine what changes you've made to a properties file using diff. For example:

diff /opt/zoomdata/conf/zoomdata.properties /etc/zoomdata/zoomdata.properties
