The Benefits of Cloud Managed Services
In this video, you’ll learn that there are several benefits to using cloud managed services. The Amazon EMR, S3, and Hive configuration with Presto enables clusters of varying sizes to be deployed rapidly with very little data duplication.

So, what are the benefits to using this system? First, it allows you to rapidly deploy EMR clusters within minutes, all the while keeping your overhead low as your only resources are the Presto cluster, Hive and S3.
Next is cluster size. Cluster size is variable using EMR task nodes, meaning as your demand for queries goes up, you can change your cluster size accordingly, saving cost, as when your demand goes down, you can also decrease these clusters.
Third is the S3 ETL. As long as you ingest it into S3 and refresh the Hive table, the data is instantly queryable by Presto.
Fourth is file duplication. The only duplication that occurs is some metadata in Hive, again, keeping your cost low.
And finally, it is not only available in AWS but also the secure AWS or C2S.
