Zoomdata & the Cloud: Final Thoughts

Final Thoughts with Russ Cosentina

In this video, you’ll find out how Zoomdata’s vision evolved as the cloud gained momentum.

The company started with a vision of changing the way people accessed, interacted with, and consumed data. And it’s always looked to the latest technologies to achieve that vision. That’s why, for example, it invested a lot in technologies like Impala, Spark, and Redshift. The company didn’t want to work inside a bubble but instead continually work the latest technologies into the its ecosystem. When the cloud really started to take off, it was a great opportunity for Zoomdata to deliver its capabilities to customers via the cloud.

Changing the Way Data Is Accessed and Consumed

When we think back to when Zoomdata was started, we kind of had this vision or this goal where we wanted to change the way in which people accessed, interacted, and consumed data. Then over our evolution as a company, we've always looked to new technologies to achieve these results. That's why we invested a lot in Impala or Spark or Redshift. Because we didn't want to work inside a Zoomdata bubble and solve this problem, we wanted to take advantage of the broader environment and leverage those technologies that seemed to be getting traction and work them into the Zoomdata ecosystem.

Cloud Data Storage Is A Revolutionary Shift

Now the cloud comes along, and the cloud really is this revolutionary change that's going on in computing that only happens every 10, 15 years, this type of shift. And we see how Amazon has a million users, how Azure's deployed throughout the Fortune 500, how Google is being utilized by high-tech industries to solve big problems. And for Zoomdata, it's important for us to capitalize on this environment and deliver our capabilities to customers in the cloud environment.

Embracing How The Cloud Connects to Consumers

And not only is it just making it accessible by the cloud, it's really embracing how the cloud connects to its consumers, it's being involved in the marketplace, it's building solutions around particular problems that people have so they can just flip on the switch and have Zoomdata solve that problem that's always taking this bigger vision of what Zoomdata can do as a part of that overall ecosystem to expand the adoption of the cloud.
